Blog Post #5

The significance of the title of Catcher in the Rye is mainly when Holden keeps talking about the glove that he keeps with him and how he misses his brother, who passed away earlier in his life, and how his favorite thing to do when they were younger was to play ball together. It also has to do with his little sister Phoebe because she is the age that Allie was when he passed away, which makes Holden hold onto her and love her as a younger sibling all the more. Also, in the book, it said that Holden had kept the glove with him when he was in college and when he was writing the paper for his roommate, he had gotten off topic and started writing about how he used to play catch with Allie and how Allie wrote in the glove.
